Prior to any surgery, you will need lab work including comprehensive metabolic panel, complete blood count, and coagulation studies. Recent blood work within 30 days before surgery will suffice if you have them, and you can bring them into your office visit. If you do not, the doctor can order these blood test for you. These tests can generally be done within 10 minutes of seeing a phlebotomist at a lab. Additionally, prior to any major surgery, your blood type and screen must be obtained.
If the doctors at SOSI will prescribe you any narcotic medications, then a urine toxicology will be ordered. Narcotic medications are highly controlled substances by the DEA, and the doctors at SOSI are required to do their due diligence in order to avoid any diverting of narcotic medications.
